P.E (Physcial Education)
P.E. Curriculum Statement of Intent
Subject Leader is Mr Dobson.
INTENT
At Cherry Willingham Primary Academy, our intent is that Physical Education results in children being physically active for sustained periods of time, and that they understand the importance of physical activity for their general health and well-being. Our aim is to provide a broad, balanced, inclusive and high quality curriculum, which is delivered in a fun and safe environment, where all children can succeed, lead a healthy lifestyle and become confident young leaders.
IMPLEMENTATION
We help pupils to experience a wide variety of sports and opportunities, which result in them developing a lifelong positive attitude towards physical activity. We also aim to provide additional sporting opportunities through a range of extra-curricular clubs, where children can have fun and the chance to further develop their sporting skills and knowledge. PE is used to reinforce a number of the school’s values, with children being taught the importance of respect, courage, perseverance and resilience and recognising how these skills are transferable to other areas of their everyday life.
IMPACT
By the time children leave Cherry Willingham Primary Academy, the intention is that they have a love of physical activity and sport, and understand, and can articulate, how to take care of themselves both physically and mentally in order to be successful, young adults.
PE is taught for 2 hours per week.
Swimming -
